India Emerging as a Soft Power

What does it take, for a nation to be recognized globally? Is it the military strength , is it the wealth, is it the GDP of the nation, Technology, etc? Of course these factors do put a country into the path of growth and prosperity, but apart from that its the ability of the country to be a "soft power".

What do you mean by Soft Power? It's the ability of a country to attract others through its culture, people, and so on.

I was totally moved by the concept of India emerging as a soft power. This would be one such dimension that most of us would not have thought before ( Atleast I didn't!!:) ).

Here, the speaker is Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Hon. Minister of State for External Affairs, who enthralls his audience with the concept and his presentation.

Even though India has a lots of intricacies internally, it is in the right track. Atleast the people are getting more wise and knowledgable.

We have a long way to go before we become a super-power!! We have a lot of issues to attend to, like infrastructure, poverty, Electricity, Education, even preservation of our natural resources. Still, we remain champs when it comes to being a nation with rich history and culture and yet with a bend of modernism in our minds.

BTW, I found the presentation given by our Hon. Minister to be absolutely superb. The delivery was amazing in terms of clarity, content, and flow.

Jai Hind!
