Here is a book that is fully packed with what you call "Life". It is one of the most amazing books that I have come across. Randy Pausch, a professor from Universtiy of Carneige Mellon, for Computer-Human Interaction, has 10 pancreatic cancers, which is terminal. But still he manages to prepare his 3 kids , his wife and others for a world without him.
It is a practice in the University of Carneige Mellon, that the professors who are retiring from the service has to give " The Last Lecture". This talk was modeled after an ongoing series of lectures where top academics are asked to think deeply about what matters to them, and then give a hypothetical "final talk", i.e., "what wisdom would you try to impart to the world if you knew it was your last chance?"
Ironically for Randy Pausch, it was his real "Last Lecture". Through his speech, " Really Achieving Your Chilhood Dreams" he relives his entire life and teaches us a simple fact
"Life is very vibrant, live life to the fullest because you dont know when your life would be taken away" and when you are in this world, always "LIVE, LOVE AND LEAVE LEGACY".
This book caught my serious attention from the moment I started reading the prologue. From there on, it just glued me to itself until I was finished reading the last page.
Randy tries to bridge the gap that could arise after he passes away. He makes sure that his Last Lecture is video taped to be shown to his kids when they grow up without him.
The courage with which he reconciles to the fact that he has only few months left to live, still managing to live a happy life during his last days, is the supernatural strength of his mind!!
Hats Off to this gentleman who taught people the value of life and also how to live your life to the fullest!!!.
My Recommendation : Do not miss to read this piece. It's one of the masterpieces I have ever seen
